A kitchen born from a garden
It started with a small herb garden behind Maria's flat and a stubborn belief that good food doesn't need to be complicated. In 1998, she turned the old laundrette on Elm Street into a twelve-seat kitchen with mismatched chairs, a wood-fired oven, and a menu that changed with the weather.
Twenty-six years later, we're still here — a little louder, a lot busier, but cooking the same way. Everything comes from within fifty miles. The bread is baked before sunrise. The olive oil comes from the same family in Kalamata that Maria first wrote to in the nineties.
